Dear Terrific Third Grader,
Welcome to third grade! My name is Mrs. Gorczyca and I am so excited to be your teacher this year! I hope you had a fun and restful summer and that you are ready for an amazing year! We are going to have a wonderful time together. I have some VERY exciting news that I wanted to share with you from the very beginning: our classroom will be a 1:1 Google Chromebook Classroom which means you all will get your own Google Chromebook laptop for the year!!
Third grade is such an awesome year. We will be having book clubs and reading and writing workshop! In science, we will be learning about rocks, minerals, and plant growth and development! Get ready to learn all about the world and do case studies on different countries this year in social studies. In math, we will be reviewing old topics and learning new skills such as multiplication. It will be an interesting, exciting, busy and very fun school year!
I cannot wait to meet you! Please type in the following link so I can learn a little bit about you before the school year starts: http://goo.gl/forms/3uXZ7x8LfZ. In the meantime, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I was born in Poland and I moved to America when I was in 2nd grade. I came straight to Sharon School! I have one younger sister, Selena, who is 18 years old. I love reading. I would read all day if I could! I love Snickers candy, the color green and the movie Frozen. Taylor Swift is my favorite musical artist and I love elephants! I would love to hear if we have a connection.
When I am not teaching or reading I enjoy cooking, going shopping, and spending time at the beach. This summer, I went to Playa del Carmen, Mexico with my family for vacation. We had a really nice time!
If you look on the school website, you can find our third grade supply list. It will be very helpful to have all of your supplies ready on the first day so we can all get organized together! Also, please bring in your favorite book, and a “summer artifact” (a picture, drawing, postcard, souvenir, etc.) that represents something you did this summer to share with the class.
Once again, welcome to third grade! I can't wait to meet you soon!
I am so excited to meet you and be your teacher,
