In today's math lesson students worked in groups to identify and create patterns with solid shapes. I was so proud that they were thinking about color patterns, shape patterns, and property patterns!
Today we began exploring our new science kit and got introduced to solids! Then, we read about solids in a book as well as a poem about solids. Then, students wrote examples of solids on post-its and stuck them onto the poem.

In writing workshop, we learned how to make really strong endings for our realistic fiction stories. Specifically, we learned how to end our stories with feeling, action, and dialogue. We took a vote about which ending they liked best from my cooperating teacher's story. Feeling won!
After that, my cooperating teacher and I met with guided reading groups.
